The State of Qatar received several prestigious awards at the International Forum of Arab Women in Diplomacy, organized by the League of Arab States in cooperation with the Arab Council for Social Responsibility. The event, held at the League’s headquarters in Cairo, coincided with the International Day of Arab Women Diplomats and celebrated the achievements of Arab women leaders across politics, education, and diplomacy.
Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, was awarded the Arab Woman Excellence Shield for Social Responsibility 2026. The honor recognized her leadership at national, regional, and international levels, particularly her role in advancing education and social development. The award was received on her behalf by Counselor Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim, representing Qatar’s Embassy in Egypt and its Permanent Delegation to the League of Arab States.
In the education sector, Dr. Rania Yousri Mohammed, Director of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens, was presented with the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award 2026 for her pioneering project promoting social responsibility in private schools and kindergartens. Speaking to QNA, Dr. Mohammed highlighted Qatar’s experience as a model shared with Arab countries to encourage solidarity among schools, students, parents, and ministries. She expressed hope that the initiative would expand equitable, high‑quality education opportunities and strengthen community development.
Her Excellency Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, was also honored with the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award for her contributions to parliamentary work and community engagement. The award was received on her behalf by Counselor Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim.
Diplomatic recognition was extended to Maryam Ahmed Al Shibi, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Ambassador of Qatar to Egypt, who was commended for her efforts in strengthening Arab cooperation, empowering women in diplomacy, and promoting social responsibility. In remarks to QNA, Al Shibi said the honor reflects Qatar’s commitment to empowering women in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, adding that the award motivates continued service in peacebuilding and sustainable development.
The forum gathered regional and international diplomatic leaders, decision‑makers, and representatives of development and media organizations, underscoring the growing role of Arab women in shaping diplomacy and social responsibility.
